In your blog post discuss the concept of using identical twins in an experiment with one being the test subject and the other the control. Discuss how this will work, what it could show the experimenters, and the advantage of using identical twins
The concept of using identical twins in an experiment where one is the test subject and the other is the control is very interesting. In the article that was read Scott Kelly (an astronaut) has a twin brother that is a former astronaut himself. By using the twin brother on Earth as a control subject it shows how different a person's health will be after being in space for so long. In this scenario Scott is the test subject and his brother, Mark, is the control subject as he is not being affected by zero-gravity space. An experiment like this would work by keeping two people on the same diet, exercise schedules, and various other factors that could affect one's health. One person would be sent into space and the other would be kept on Earth. The two subjects would show the experimenters how exactly a person's health is affected by going into space for a certain period of time. The advantage of using identical twins is because they are essentially the same person through variables like age, sex, history, and anatomy which could block out a few lurking variables that affect each subject's health.

I felt pretty great about the first test. I was expecting it to be much harder than it was, but it turned out to be pretty easy for me. I did feel adequately prepared for this test, the textbook helped me out a lot and so did the extra-credit. One thing that I felt was hard about the test was describing what a certain problem did to something else, which is kind of hard to discuss here. Other than that, I did not find anything troubling at all. I found the multiple choice section to be easy and a comforting surprise as I thought that the test was going to be mostly open answer. I do think I could do more of utilizing my resources throughout the next unit, especially watching the provided videos. I did not study with a group, but I collaborated with my friends if I did not know a certain problem or how to do it exactly.
